The wine, characterized by early accessibility, is made using grapes from the more recent plantings which already epitomize the distinctive qualities of Montepeloso.

Blend: 30% Montepulciano, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20 %Sangiovese, 10% Marselan, 10% Alicante

 

Critical Acclaim

JS93 James Suckling
Aromas of blueberries, blackberries and minerals with a sandalwood and violet undertone. Medium to full body. Tight, polished tannins. The aftertaste is full of berries and hints of fresh herbs. Drink from 2021.

V93 Vinous

The 2017 A Quo is the only wine Montepeloso bottled in a brutal, challenging vintage in which dehydration took with it 40% of the potential crop. All of the best fruit went into the entry-level A Quo, which is positively stellar in 2017. Red cherry jam, mint, cedar and wild flowers are all wonderfully fused together in a sumptuous, racy Bolgheri red that punches well above its weight.
